Scam Alert

Please note that a fraudulent scam is being circulated using the Hyundai Automotive South Africa and Budget Insurance Brokers brand names and false contact details to illicit personal information from consumers.

Budget Insurance Brokers and Hyundai Automotive South Africa are not running a competition.

Should any person be contacted with regards to being "randomly selected from the Hyundai database to win a new Hyundai Getz 1.4 GL A/C Manual Sport", they are requested to please report this immediately to Jolene Chait from Budget Insurance Brokers on iheart@iburst.co.za or Hyundai's call centre on 086 142 7222.

The material being circulated is false, and while it "uses" the Hyundai logo and "head office contact details", all details supplied on this material are incorrect.

The basis of this scam is that a consumer has been randomly selected to win a Hyundai Getz 1.4 GL A/C Manual Sport.

The material further implies that Hyundai Automotive South Africa is working with Budget Insurance Brokers to ensure the consumer receives a 6.5% discount on their insurance premiums for the first 2 years in order to take receipt of the car.

Again, this promotion is false and is not endorsed by Budget Insurance Brokers or Hyundai Automotive South Africa.

The matter has been raised with the SAPS and an investigation into this scam is underway.
